Fainting Couch

You've probably seen the weird piece of furniture in movies or museums, even if the back is just on one side or the lower back is wrapped on one side with the higher back. This is called a swoon couch. They were said to have been used for women who fainted due to their corset constriction, or for women who needed special massage procedures. These sofas maintained their comfort during the procedures.

The fainting couch no longer has the same function as it used to, but is a rather original piece of decoration that can also be surprisingly comfortable. Some even suggest that a fainting couch can help them sleep if they have restless sleep patterns as they provide sleep in a sitting position.

Depending on the room in which you use the couch, the design varies accordingly. A fainting couch is a rather expensive piece of furniture and its price depends on material and elegance, expensive covers are obviously more durable and can look even more luxurious.

You can also install a fainting couch in a more modern house. however, it best suits a vintage style and gives it a small Rococo look. In more modern homes, the back and legs of the couch need less embellishment, and a more original look is also produced. If your home is full of antique details and ornate furniture, a fainting couch will blend in perfectly with that style.
